From Slidell Police:

On Saturday, February 11, 2017, at approximately 9:30 p.m., employees from the McDonald’s at 2190 Gause Boulevard West called the Slidell Police Department after witnessing suspicious subjects armed with guns in the parking lot. When the officers arrived, they were informed that the subjects had left the store, and the employees provided information on the vehicle they were riding in. Officers in the area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle matching that description and identified the occupants as Kendall Blakely and Timothy Marques.
During the traffic stop, officers observed an assault rifle and a burning marijuana cigarette inside the vehicle, which led to the immediate pat-down of both subjects. Officers recovered nearly 8 grams of cocaine and three pills, believed to be Xanax, as well as the marijuana cigarette. Further investigation revealed that the rifle was reported stolen out of New Orleans.

27-year-old New Orleans resident Kendall Blakely was charged with the following:

14:95.1 Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm
14:95.E Possession of a Firearm While in Possession of a Controlled Substance
14:69.1 Possession of a Stolen Firearm
40:967.A Possession of Schedule II
40:969.C Possession of Schedule IV
40:966.E Possession of Marijuana

33-year-old Biloxi resident Timothy Marques was charged with the following:

40:69.1 Possession of a Stolen Firearm
40:966.E Possession of Marijuana

Chief Randy Fandal had this to say about the incident “It’s a team effort to keep our city safe. The Slidell Police Department will continue its efforts to keep drugs off our streets and stop the violent crime before it occurs.”
