Task Force makes arrests in Pearl River-area drug investigation

From the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office:
Detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force wrapped up two unrelated narcotics investigations last month in the Pearl River-area.

The investigations resulted in the arrests of four individuals and arrest warrants issued for another. Nearly one half ounce of Methamphetamine intended for distribution, more than 300 prescription pills intended for distribution, assorted drug paraphernalia, and 16 firearms were seized as a result of these two investigations.

James Smith, 62, of Pearl River, was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on the following charges:
L.R.S. 40:967AC Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamine)
L.R.S. 40:969AC Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule IV CDS
L.R.S. 40:969C Possession of Schedule IV CDS
L.R.S. 40:1060.13 Sale, Distribution or Possession of a Legend Drug Without Prescription
L.R.S. 40:1023 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
L.R.S. 14:95E Illegal Carrying of Weapon During Crime of Violence

Glynn Acy Jr., 51, of Pearl River, was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on the following charges:
L.R.S. 40:967AC Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamine)
L.R.S. 40:1023 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
L.R.S. 14:95.1 Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon
L.R.S. CCRP:21 Contempt of Court for Non-Support ($6,111.00)

Nicholas Payne, 32, of Pearl River, was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on the following charge:
L.R.S. 40:1238.1 Distribution or Possession of a Legend Drug Without Prescription

A summons was issued for Glynn Patrick Acy III, of Pearl River, for the charge of L.R.S. 40:1023 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Arrest warrants were issued for Geoffrey Bennett, of Pearl River, for the charges of L.R.S. 14:108.1 Flight from an Officer and L.R.S. 32:295.1 No Seatbelt.

The STPSO Narcotics Task Force in comprised of detectives from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, Mandeville Police Department, Covington Police Department and Slidell Police Department.
