Near record high temperatures are expected for Mardi Gras festivities today. Although there will probably be a good bit of cloud cover, rain should not be a problem today. A cold front will return a chance of thunderstorms to the area Wednesday afternoon and evening. A few of those storms could be strong over southern Mississippi, as well as areas of southeast Louisiana north of a line from Donaldsonville to New Orleans. Cooler and mostly sunny weather expected for Thursday through Saturday.

 

 

Tuesday    Patchy fog before 7am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. South wind 5 to 15 mph.

 

 

Tuesday Night   Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. South wind around 10 mph.

 

 

Wednesday    A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. South wind around 10 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon.

 

 

Wednesday Night   A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

 

 

Thursday   Mostly sunny, with a high near 67.

 

 

Thursday Night   Partly cloudy, with a low around 43.

 

 

Friday   Mostly sunny, with a high near 69.

 

 

Friday Night   Partly cloudy, with a low around 45.

 

 

Saturday   Partly sunny, with a high near 70.
