PPD, ATF, and LSP partner to Missouri arrest fugitive in Robert

PONCHATOULA---Ponchatoula Police Chief Bry Layrisson announces the arrest of Phillip Anthony Guidry of Loranger on a fugitive warrant out of the state of Missouri related to weapons charges.
Ponchatoula Police was assisted in the arrest by Louisiana State Police Criminal Intelligence Division, the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.

On March 2, 2018, Chief Bry Layrisson and the Ponchatoula Police Department Criminal Investigations Division Detective assigned to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations Task Force arrested Phillip Guidry in Robert.

Guidry is considered a domestic extremist and is self-identified as a sovereign citizen. His ideology is anti- local, state, and federal government and he is also a convicted felon.

During the course of the investigation, law enforcement officials conducted a search of Phillip Guidry’s fortified residential compound. This search led to the discovery and seizure of an array of firearms, including a suspected illegal fully-automatic rifle.

Guidry was transported and booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on the state of Missouri warrant pending further investigation by local, state, and federal authorities.

Chief Layrisson states, “All agencies must work in cooperation with one another, as we did in this incident, in order to keep the city of Ponchatoula and the Parish of Tangipahoa a safe place. Everyone did a great job getting this criminal off of the streets.”
