From the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office:
HAMMOND, LA – (April 20, 2017) – Two subjects have been arrested on federal drug charges for the alleged distribution of methamphetamine.

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that as the result of a joint investigation between the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), 43 year old Roger David Hammond Jr. of Hammond, LA. and 50 year old Charlotte White of Holden, LA. are behind bars on federal drug charges.

The investigation revealed that Hammond was traveling to the Baton Rouge area obtaining methamphetamine that he would later sell in Tangipahoa Parish. After weeks of gathering intelligence on the illegal methamphetamine operation, agents with the TPSO and DEA actively orchestrated a plan to shut the operation down. With assistance from the Hammond Police Department, on April 5, 2017, at approximately 12:30 a.m., agents from all three agencies began surveillance of the illegal drug operation.

During this time, agents observed and identified 43 year old Roger David Hammond Jr. of Hammond, LA. drive to the Baton Rouge area where he illegally obtained a specific amount of methamphetamine. While under surveillance, Hammond traveled back into Tangipahoa Parish where he meet up 50 year old Charlotte White of Holden, LA. The duo met on I-12 at the “weigh-station area” east of Pumpkin Center. Still under surveillance, Hammond and White openly proceeded in an illegal drug transaction.

Once the transaction was completed and the two subjects were back on the move, agents initiated traffic stops on both vehicles. At this time, search warrants were obtained and executed. As a result, agents located approximately 2 ounces of methamphetamine.

Consequently, Hammond and White were both arrested on federal narcotics charges by the Drug Enforcement Administration and are being held without bond. Hammond was also charged by the TPSO with multiple traffic violations and on an outstanding Domestic Violence warrant.
