HAMMOND---The new year began with two administrative changes within the Tangipahoa Parish School System.
Effective Friday, Hammond High Magnet Principal Kris Labruzzo will be part of the system’s Special Education administrative team.
Labruzzo has been principal at HHMS since July 2015. According to her bio which is posted on the HHMS website, she has a background in administration as well as certifications as an educational diagnostician, a reading specialist, supervisor of student teaching, and child search coordinator.
In her new role, she will be working with the team housed at the Special Services Center in Hammond.
Shelly Gaydos, Labruzzo’s interim assistant principal, will step in and serve as interim principal at Hammond High Magnet for the remainder of this school year. A Hammond native, Gaydos has worked at Hammond High in a number of roles for more than 20 years. She is a former Teacher of the Year and a Kiwanis International Regional Teacher of the Year for the tri-state area.
The district will likely fill the principal’s post on a more permanent basis later this year.
