From the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office

We have received numerous inquiries regarding the presence of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office at the Christ Episcopal School.

Since the early hours of Monday, May 14, prior to the start of the school day, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigators have been working an active investigation into what could be perceived as a threat, which was received by the school via email.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is working closely with our Federal partners in law enforcement and are taking all possible steps to identify, locate, and aggressively pursue criminal charges against any individual or group who may be responsible.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office will have an indefinite presence on the campus of Christ Episcopal School. Faculty, parents, and students should continue to monitor correspondence from school officials regarding the status of regularly scheduled classes and school activities.

“The safety of our schools and your children are of the utmost importance to us,” said Sheriff Randy Smith. “We will continue to work closely with Christ Episcopal School and its staff to ensure a safe learning environment is in place for students.”
