Washington Parish conducts massive drug roundup

On Thursday, April 25, the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force, assisted by officers and canines from Rayburn Correctional Center and agents from Louisiana Probation and Parole, conducted a drug offender roundup throughout Washington Parish.  With nineteen warrants in hand, the officer’s targeted offenders who had been caught on video and audio selling drugs.  The roundup began in Bogalusa and then moved to the central part of the parish before ending in Franklinton.  Twelve of the wanted persons were apprehended and seven were not found.  
Arrested on warrants were:

Bruce McNeese, 64, 31208 Cleve Kennedy Road, Franklinton, Distribution of Schedule II Drugs
Paul Penton, 51, 1221 Lona Rester Place,  Bogalusa, Distribution of Schedule II Drugs
Carla Simmons, 45, 25240 Old Columbia Road, Franklinton, Distribution of Schedule II Drugs

Each of the suspects was transported to the Washington Parish Jail under a $75,000 bond.  As of noon, April 26, all suspects remain in jail.
Sheriff’s Office deputies will continue to be on the lookout for the seven persons with warrants who could not be located during the roundup.
In addition to the individuals named in the warrants, an additional four persons were arrested during Thursday’s law enforcement sweep of the parish.

Sheriff Randy Seal, who accompanied the officers during the drug roundup, stated, “Our Drug Task Force did an excellent job in putting together the cases against each of these persons who are illegal selling drugs in our parish.  Additionally, roundup activities led to four other persons who were arrested.  I have said it before and I say it again.  Anyone who is selling drugs in Washington Parish should be looking over their shoulder, because we are coming after them.  This is not the end of the arrests.  We will continue to make cases against drug dealers and will do our best to put them behind bars where they belong.”
