A warm and cloudy day expected before scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms develop overnight. A few of the storms could become strong to severe north of Lake Pontchartrain, around the Baton Rouge area, and across southwest Mississippi. Warm and dry conditions will return on Thursday and Friday.



Today
Patchy fog between 7am and 8am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 85. South wind 5 to 15 mph. 
Tonight
Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 60. South wind 5 to 15 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. 
Thursday
Mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon.
