19-year-old killed in Mandeville shooting; 19-year-old arrested
From the St. Tammany Sheriff's Office
Early this morning, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a shooting on Ridgewood Loop in Mandeville, LA.
The victim, 19-year-old, Vincent Cuccia, was shot several times and rushed to a nearby hospital, but passed away as a result of his injuries.
St. Tammany Parish detectives arrested 19-year-old, Jake Mills, and have charged him with second degree murder. The investigation led investigators to believe an argument took place over a female. The argument escalated, which resulted in Cuccia being shot by Mills.
Sheriff Randy Smith says, "This was a senseless killing which resulted in the ruined lives of two young teenagers - one dead and the other who could potentially be sentenced to prison for the rest of his life. Sad."
The incident is being ruled a homicide. Mills was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail this afternoon. A bond has not yet been set.
