On December 23, Detectives from the Criminal Investigative Division of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Isaiah Alexander 18yr, Foster Town Rd, Angie for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder.

The Sheriff Office received a call around midnight from a passing motorist who reported that there was a man in the grassy area off the roadway on Fornea Rd that was bleeding badly.  When WPSO Deputies and EMS arrived, they discovered a man lying on the side of the road who appeared to have been shot 4 times, 2 bullet wounds to his face, one to the shoulder and one to his leg. He was in serious condition but was able to tell Deputies and Detectives who shot him.  Detectives were able to determine that the victim was returning from a church service and was in contact with the shooter, Isaiah Alexander.  The victim had agreed to pick Alexander up and give him a ride to his house in Varnado.  Detectives were able to confirm that the victim picked up Alexander and that they stopped at several ATM machines.  They ended up at a secluded area near an abandoned gravel pit.   Detectives confirmed that the shooting took place at the gravel pit.  After being shot the victim was able to walk or crawl back to the roadway until he was discovered.

Detectives immediately began a search for Isaiah Alexander.  After reaching out to his family Isaiah Alexander turned himself to the Sheriff’s Office. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation however based on Alexander’s confession detectives know he shot the victim, and left the area not knowing whether he was dead or alive.

Alexander was previously booked into the Washington Parish Jail on narcotics and firearm charges.   Alexander is currently in jail on $125,000 bond.  The matter remains under investigation.  “This victim is lucky to be alive and our prayers are with him and his family.” said Sheriff Seal.  If anyone has information about this shooting please contact the Sheriff’s Office at 985-839-3434.
