Three arrested; fourth sought in Hammond armed robberies

HAMMOND---Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the following:

On February 18, 2018, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating two armed robberies that occurred consecutively; one in the Old Baton Rouge Highway area and the other near the Happywoods Market and Deli two days later.

In both instances the subjects and vehicle involved matched descriptions provided by both victims. Detectives Dale Athmann and Travis Pitman made immediate progress in the investigation through cooperation with community members that resulted in three suspects being initially identified: 22–year-old Jessie Osby, aka “POOKIE” of Hammond; 20–year-old Romeriez Watkins, aka “BUBBA” of Hammond; and 22-year-old Jacolby Dotey, aka “COLBY” of Hammond.

Warrants were obtained on all three subjects. Subsequent to the arrest of Jessie Osby on February 21, 2018, a fourth subject was identified - 40-year-old Tashiba Cloy, aka “SHIBA” of Hammond, who participated in the planning of the armed robberies and received monetary proceeds taken in the robberies.

A search warrant was obtained and executed on Osby’s residence. Detectives located two firearms, one sawed off shotgun and a UZI machine pistol previously reported as stolen from a business burglary at the Tickfaw Auction House and Gun Store.

Detectives Travis Pitman, Dale Atmann and the Uniformed Patrol Deputies took suspect Tashiba Cloy into custody at her residence on February 22, 2018. On February 23rd, Detective Pitman and members of the Uniformed Patrol Division took Romeriez Watkins into custody in the early morning hours, where he was found hiding in the bathroom of a residence located on Willa Villa Road, in Hammond.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriffs Office is still attempting to locate 22 –year-old Jacolby Dotey on warrants for: 2 counts L.R.S.14:64 Relative to Armed Robbery, 1 count L.R.S.14:95.1 Relative to Felon in Possession of a Firearm and 1 count L.R.S.14:69.1 Relative to Possession of a Stolen Firearm. Dotey is said to be traveling in a grey Nissan Altima, has ties to the Springfield, Ponchatoula and Tickfaw areas.
