Slidell Couple Arrested After $18,000 Worth of Cocaine, Other Drugs Found in Home

Two convicted felons are facing more charges after $18,000 worth of cocaine and a variety of other drugs, money and drug paraphernalia were found inside the home they share with their 1-year-old daughter.

On Friday, May 11, detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration culminated a months-long investigation by conducting a search warrant at the couple’s Slidell-area residence.

The search uncovered approximately 441 grams of cocaine, 22 dosage units of MDMA (Ecstasy), 26 dosage units of Tramadol, 8 grams of marijuana, assorted narcotics paraphernalia, a handgun and $4,167 of United States currency. The cocaine alone carried a street value of approximately $18,000.

Destin Miller (DOB 7/14/1992; 1758 Sullivan Road, Slidell) was home with the couple’s 1-year-old daughter, when detectives arrived to execute the search warrant.

Miller, who has prior felony convictions, was arrested on the following charges and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail:

L.R.S. 40:966AC – Possession of Schedule I CDS to wit MDMA
L.R.S. 40:966E (2) – Possession of Marijuana (2nd Offense)
L.R.S. 40:1060.13 – Possession of Legend Drug without a Prescription
L.R.S. 40:1041 – Transactions Involving the Proceeds of Drug Offenses
L.R.S. 40:1023 – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
L.R.S. 14:95.1 – Illegal Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon
L.R.S. 14:91.13 – Possession of CDS in the presence of a Minor

His girlfriend, Precious Thompson (DOB 8/27/1989; 1758 Sullivan Road, Slidell), who also has previous felony convictions, was not present at the time the search warrant was executed. She later surrendered to detectives and was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on the following charges:

The child was released to the custody of a family member.

The St. Tammany Parish Narcotics Task Force is comprised of members of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, the Mandeville Police Department and the Slidell Police Department.
