Covington teen arrested in Old Mandeville vehicle burglaries

On Friday MPD Detectives arrested Typolia Peters, 17, of Covington for 6 counts of vehicle burglary, 1 count attempted vehicle burglary and 2 counts of theft of a firearm.

The break came late Thursday night with the assistance of the St Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office after one of their deputies arrested Peters for possessing one of the two stolen firearms. Subsequent investigation led to Peters being booked on the charges and remanded to the St Tammany Parish Jail.

MPD Detectives are still working to identify a second suspect.

The Mandeville Police is asking for the public's help to identify the individuals responsible for a string of vehicle burglaries on Old Mandeville Lane on Sunday night/Monday morning 11-13-17 around 1:30AM.

At least two subjects on bicycles entered nine (9) vehicles, all of which were unlocked. Two pistols were among the property taken.

The recovered surveillance video shows one of the subjects armed with a pistol trying to enter a truck before moving on. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Mandeville Police Department at (985) 626-9711.
