HAMMOND – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the following:
Tangipahoa Parish Criminal Investigation Detectives are asking for your assistance in identifying two occupants of a black Chrysler M with a Mississippi Plate who allegedly robbed assaulted and robbed a homeowner on East Merry St. in Hammond, LA.
On September 7, 2010, at approximately 5:30 pm in the evening, Deputies Jermaine Irving and Brad Bronkessel responded to East Merry Street Hammond LA, in reference to a robbery. It was reported that when the homeowner arrived at the residence, she observed a black Chrysler M parked in the middle of the street. Within moments, the home owner was approached by one of the occupants of the vehicle. The unknown black male asked the homeowner to purchase electronic equipment. The homeowner declined and continued walking to the residence.
At this time, the unknown black male subject struck the homeowner in the back of the head with a blunt object. As the homeowner fell to the ground, the suspect then robbed her. The suspects then fled the scene east on E. Merry St.
The main suspect, the driver, is described as a 6’ tall black male approximately 185 pounds. This suspect was of medium build with green eyes. Subject 2, the passenger could not be identified.
