HOLDEN---At approximately 5:24 pm on September 7, 2010 Livingston Parish Deputies received the report of a possible shooting at the address of 17036 Fla. Blvd. Lot # 7, Holden, La.  Upon their arrival, seven minutes later, they discovered that 42 year old Brenda Myers had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to her head. 

Detectives, who were called to the scene, recovered a .38 caliper pistol believed to have been used to commit the crime.  They also took the victim’s boyfriend, Joseph Mixon, into custody for questioning.  He was eventually charged in the case.

The Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office is in the process of scheduling an autopsy, in the coming days, to gather more information on cause of death.

Detectives believe this death was the culmination of an ongoing domestic argument between the victim and her boyfriend.

Joseph Deleio Mixon, a 27 year old white male who listed his address as 17036 Florida Blvd, Lot # 7, Holden, La., was charged as follows:
