LORANGER – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that deputies arrested two suspects after they burglarized a vehicle on E. Cooper Road

Deputies engaged in a search for the suspects.   The suspects were reportedly headed South on LA 1054 towards Joe's Hilltop.  Deputy Phebus then positioned his unit in the suspected area as surveillance in an effort to intercept the vehicle. Within in two minutes, a vehicle matching the description stopped at the intersection of LA 1054 and LA 40.  At this time, deputy initiated a traffic stop on said vehicle described as a 1983 Pontiac Bonneville LA.  The vehicle was occupied by the driver, Shawton Jackson (23 of Hammond), and passenger Jerreth Green (17 of Hammond).  It was observed that Green was wearing the wearing a #11 Jersey.

Upon contact with Jackson and Green, both subjects were detained. During the investigation, deputies discovered several pieces of electronic equipment in the vehicle. Deputies confirmed that the equipment discovered in the vehicle was taken from the car on E. Cooper Rd.   Both subjects were arrested and officially charged with vehicle burglary.

Sgt. Henry Neihaus was then able to return the property to the proper owner.
