Lin Averett

A longtime resident of Livingston Parish, Lin passed away on Friday, September 3, 2010 at his residence in Holden at the age of 63. He was the owner/operator of Livingston True Value and a U.S. Army veteran having served in Germany during Vietnam.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Kathy Averett; his cherished daughter, Jamie Klumpp and husband Hillary; step-children, Matthew Hendricks and wife Samantha, Rachel Drouillard and husband John; four grandchildren, Cade and Caylee Klumpp, Owen Drouillard and Andrew Hendricks. He also leaves behind his three brothers, Lavelle, Wayne and Lane Averett, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Lin in death were his daughter, Christie Lynn Averett; parents, Elton and Mae Averett.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Celebration of New Life Service from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, west of Hammond, on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. The family requests visiting hours be observed from the chapel on Monday, September 6th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and again on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until the service time. Rev. Michael Williamson will officiate the services and interment will follow in Colyell Community Cemetery.
