Winston Jay “Rooster” Kovach, age 54, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2010. He was a longtime resident of Albany and an avid motorcyclist and fisherman who was devoted to his grandchildren.

Winston is survived by his wife, Brenda Jones Kovach; daughters, Trina Kovach Nelson and husband Chuck, Krystle Kovach Noto and husband Mike; 4 grandchildren, Brett and Kalyn Nelson, Hunter and Madalyn Noto. He is also survived by his parents, Jimmy and Betty Harper Kovach; sister, Diedra “Deedee” Kovach Milton and husband Darien; brothers, Geza Kovach, and Michael Kovach and wife Sherry.

Preceding Winston in death were his grandparents, Geza and Julia M. Kovach, and Leonard and Louisa Bailey Harper.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home west of Hammond on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home chapel on Friday, September 3, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service time. The services will be officiated by Rev. Dan Munson and interment will follow in Hungarian Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Albany.
