FRANCES ALINE KNIGHT SMITH, age 87

and a resident of Franklinton died at 9:15 AM Wednesday at her residence. She was retired secretary for the Washington Parish School Board with many years of service. She was secretary for the Washington Baptist Association; the American Legion Auxillary and the Ellis Cemetery Association. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she served as a greeter for many years and was a member of Noble Queen Chapter of Order of Eastern Star.

Survived by: 21 Nieces and Nephews Numerous great and great great nieces and nephews also survived by a sister in law Earline Fisher of Franklinton

She was preceded in death by her husband John Alden Smith; her parents W.E., Sr. and Mima Letchworth Knight; 9 siblings Velma Knight, Lillie Mae Pettit, Willie K. Crain, Valine K. Blackwell, Ralton D. Knight, Joe Meadie Knight, W.E. “Bill” Knight, Jr., Leroy Knight and J.L. Knight.

Visitation at First Baptist Church after 10 AM Friday until time for the funeral service at 2 PM with Dr. Jerry Barlow and Rev. Paul Watts officiating. Burial in the Ellis Cemetery.
