Mr. Huey O. Joiner, 79 years old of Loranger, died Sunday, February 7, 2010, in Lallie Kemp Medical Center.
He was born on Wednesday, November 12, 1930, in Loranger, son of the late Finley A. and Eunice Bailey Joiner.
He was a retired supervisor for Louisiana Power and Light and also a retired farmer. Mr. Joiner was a loving husband, father and friend. He was a kind man who enjoyed laughing and playing jokes. He will be sorely missed by his family and all his friends at the round table.
Surviving are  his wife of 59 years, Roberta B. Joiner; son & daughter-in-law, David and Robin Joiner;  daughters & sons-in-law, Paula  and Ronnie Puls, Lois and Carl Mautner; daughter, Tracy Joiner;  7 grandchildren, Travis Puls, Amber P. Perrin, Regan Mautner, Brandon Adams, Hugh Holderith, Kyle Joiner, Dylan Joiner;  3 great-grandchildren, Travis Puls Jr., Layla Perrin, Nevaeh Adams; brother, Roy A. Joiner;  2 sisters, Verlie Gomez, Monnie Perrilloux; his beloved dog, Hootie and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a grandson, Taylor Mautner; brothers, Clinton Joiner, Kelly Joiner; nephew, Alfred Joiner; and niece, Linda Decota.
Friends will be received Wednesday, February 10, 2010, from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond.
Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at 1:00 pm, with Rev. Mike Hegwood officiating.
Interment will follow in the Joiner Cemetery, Loranger.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Loranger Baptist Church Building Fund.
The family would like to thank the Loranger Fire Department and Acadian Ambulance for all of their help.

SDT Waste President Sidney Torres IV has been named Grand Marshal of the Sicilian Festival which runs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Independence.
