LIVINGSTON---District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on July 29, 2010, before Judge Robert Morrison and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found guilty of narcotic related offenses and received the following sentences:

Jeremy David Alonzo, Denham Springs, LA, age 26 - Pleaded no contest to possession of Schedule II narcotics and was sentenced to serve two (2) years at hard labor in the Department of Corrections. Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on active probation for two years and ordered to pay a fine of $750.00 plus court costs.

Shannon J. Beard, Denham Springs, LA, age 27 - Pleaded no contest to distribution of Schedule II narcotics and was sentenced to serve two (2) years at hard labor in the Department of Corrections.

Bryan M. Bergin, Walker, LA, age 18 - Pleaded no contest to possession of Schedule IV narcotics and possession of marijuana (1st offense) and was sentenced to serve two (2) years at hard labor in the Department of Corrections. Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for two years and ordered to pay a fine of $750.00 plus court costs.

Darrick M. Brock, Denham Springs, LA, age 25 - Pleaded no contest to possession of Schedule II narcotics and was sentenced to serve one (1) year at hard labor in the Department of Corrections.

Robert J. Luera, Houston, TX, age 18 - Pleaded no contest to possession of Schedule II narcotics and was sentenced to serve five (5) years at hard labor in the Department of Corrections. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on active probation for five years and ordered to pay a fine of $1,500.00 plus court costs.

Carey T. Perkins, Independence, LA, age 40 - Pleaded no contest to possession of marijuana (1st offense) was sentenced to serve ninety (90) days in parish jail. Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year and ordered to pay a fine of $350.00 plus court costs.

Clayton James Saucier, Walker, LA, age 19 - Pleaded no contest to possession of drug paraphanelia and was sentenced to serve ninety (90) days in parish jail. Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year and ordered to pay a fine of $250.00 plus court costs.

Timothy G. Smith, Maurepas, LA, age 26 - Pleaded no contest to possession of Schedule II narcotics and possession of Schedule IV narcotics and was sentenced to serve two (2) years at hard labor in the Department of Corrections on each count. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on active probation for two years and was ordered to seek substance abuse evaluation/treatment.

Joshua White, Baton Rouge, LA, age 32 - Pleaded no contest to possession of drug paraphanelia, domestic abuse battery (1st offense) and aggravated assault and was sentenced to serve ninety (90) days in parish jail on the offense of domestic abuse battery, thirty (30) days in parish jail on the offense of aggravated assault and five (5) days in parish jail with sentences to be served concurrently.

 

The following individuals appeared and either pleaded guilty or no contest or were found guilty of crimes against persons/property and received the following sentences:

Adell Self, Greensburg, LA, age 45 - Pleaded no contest to aggravated battery and was sentenced to serve one (1) year at hard labor in the Department of Corrections.

Kenneth O. Tippetts, Amite, LA, age 26 - Pleaded no contest to misdemeanor theft and was sentenced to serve ninety (90) days in parish jail. Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for two years and ordered to pay a fine of $500.00 plus court costs.

Billy Van Landinham, Jr., Prairieville, LA, age 47 - Pleaded no contest to unauthorized use of a movable and was sentenced to serve six (6) months in parish jail. Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year and ordered to pay a fine of $350.00 plus court costs and make restitution.

Britton B. Walton, Denham Springs, LA, age 25 - Pleaded no contest to forgery and was sentenced to serve three (3) years at hard labor in the Department of Corrections. Jail sentence was suspended and the defendant was placed on active probation for three years and ordered to pay a fine of $750.00 plus court costs and make restitution.

Jerry Ware, Livingston, LA, age 75 - Pleaded no contest to hit and run and was sentenced to serve ninety (90) days in parish jail. Imposition of sentence was deferred and the defendant was placed on bench probation for one year and ordered to pay a fine of $350.00 plus court costs.
