Jazz on the Bayou returns March 27-28

An event you will not want to miss – Jazz on the Bayou. Jazz on the Bayou will take place at the Slidell home of Gardner and Ronnie Kole on Saturday, March 27 and Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 3 – 7 pm. Jazz on the Bayou features food from area chefs, music, dancing and a wonderful live and silent auction as well as a performance by Ronnie Kole. Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased by calling 985-643-5761 or at http://www.jazzonthebayou.com/. This event benefits STARC, Easter Seals Louisiana, as well as several other area non-profits.

Sicilian Grand Marshal

SDT Waste President Sidney Torres IV has been named Grand Marshal of the Sicilian Festival which runs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Independence. Torres is pictured above with Mayor Mike Ragusa and Chairman Reggie Martin holding a case of Castello beer that was presented to him at Town Hall. The genuine imported Sicillian beer will be available at the festival this weekend.
